It’s the government’s fault

In Episode 48 of “The Capitalist Corner,” Mark Pellegrino and Michael Liebowitz discussed a range of topics, including upcoming interviews for Michael’s show “The Rational Egoist” and upcoming speaking engagements. They engaged with listeners in a Q&A, talking about Michael’s sleep habits, and then Mark’s — resulting in a bit of banter about Mark making it about himself, a TV show Mark recently started watching on Prime, and shouting out Michael’s friend’s father to the chat.

The central discussion revolved around the ongoing feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, with Mark and Michael both critiquing its adolescent nature and the dangerous implications of a president wielding executive power against perceived adversaries. There was also a short debate about anarchism versus communism from a question in the Q&A, broadly saying that anarchism is not as detrimental as communism, while still acknowledging their disagreements with anarcho-capitalists on the concept of a monopoly on force and intellectual property rights. This might be one for Michael and Mark to discuss again, as it sounded like they were answering two slightly different questions — probably a hazard of reading the viewers’ chat and questions while speaking.

Mark and Michael also talked about the need for honest engagement with differing viewpoints and expressed their long-term goal of reducing government dependency and taxation.
