You have to look for it and it may never be openly stated. I had no father. I made up for it in actively looking for teachers… some were my own age or slightly older.

Read ‘the drama of the gifted child’ and ‘breaking down the walls of silence…’ both by Alice Miller To help you deal with the grief you have and help you differentiate yourself from him… I also recommend cognitive behavioral therapy to figure out healthy ways to move on. You have to work through that resentment if you want to grow out of your childhood. Resentment will keep you stuck… it’s ok to be mad… adults who should know better were awful to you… but if you want to be happy (and I hope you do) pronged resentment only hurts you.
