Mark’s school years

“I went to public school till the 8th grade. My mother deprived herself to get me out of a system that was busing kids out of their districts in the name of social parity… exposing them to gang violence and racial hatred. One of my friends became a gang member. I took a job to pay for my books to relieve my single mother of the expense of springing for my education.

Using children as a social experiment was pretty vile. Many children suffered as a result. And my mom was forced to pay a tax for education while straining her finances to protect me. That’s not a kind, just or moral system. Central systems NEVER are.”
